I find this book very helpful since I am new to Apple. The book that comes with the computer is not very detailed.

I have fancied all my "For Dummies" series books with the exception of this one. The author doesn't present the material in reference fashion. One cannot page quickly to the section to troubleshoot problems. When you actually finally page to the specific section, the information is not easy to decipher. I cannot recommend this text.

This book is a huge help. There are so many new features on the mac that it is overwhelming. iMac for Dummies makes it easy to jump in and start working instead of wasting time trying to figure it all out on your own.

for a quick reference guide this is a pretty good book. For about the same price though you can get a month at lynda.com and learn everything you need to know about the imac, or just about anything else.
